Hadlow – Spring Clean Working Party

A big thank you to Dibbenbrook Division for keeping the April Working Party volunteers topped up with hot drinks, cake and bacon butties on a very wet day. Despite the heavy rain our D of E volunteers and members of Birkenhead and Dibbensbrook Divisions gathered the felled wood from Orchard and Bluebell wood to lay out the fairy trail. The new living willow fence and archway entrance to the fairy trail is growing well following installation last month. It won’t be long now before the fairies move in but after all the recent rain they’ll need to pack their wellies!

Volunteers from Dibbensbrook and various Trefoil Guilds got stuck in to spring cleaning the cottage and orchard shelter for the start of our summer season at the campsite.

With the rain finally stopping by the afternoon the volunteers turned their attention to planting a new hedge around the campsite flag pole, filling the gaps in the hedge on Cedar campsite and starting planting down the main drive.

We still have lots of hedging plants to get in across the site and work to do on the vegetable garden so we’ll be having another planting day at Hadlow in the coming weeks.  Please keep an eye on our social media pages for more details and come along to join us.

Thanks to everyone who came along to help and we look forward to seeing you at our next Working Party on June 2nd at 10am.
